Power In Foot Foundation and its soccer club was founded in January 2012 and 2015 respectively with the aim of giving young people from every background, who have the desire to become professional football players the opportunity to actualize their dreams.
Starting from (but not limited to) our base in Enugu State, Nigeria, we have visited many schools and playgrounds, conducting trials to identify and recruit young people who are talented at the game of football and are passionate about it.
Most of these kids are from poor backgrounds; and would ordinarily find it difficult (if not impossible) to make their dreams come true without our help.
We also run an amateur football club/academy where we train and develop these raw talents with the intention of raising them into champions. We also give them the experience and exposure they need via matches with other amateur (and sometimes even professional) football clubs. And presently, our football academy has plenty of young people who have amazing skills and are definitely champions-in-the-making.
Also, we take advantage of the solid relationship and contacts we have with professional football clubs, football scouts and licensed FIFA agents, both within and outside Nigeria, to help these lads get lucrative contracts as professional football players at well recognized football clubs.
But the greatest satisfaction comes from knowing that some of these young ones who could have taken to crime and societal vices, have had the course of their lives redirected to the right path via the Power of the Beautiful Game !
A few Interesting Facts -
>> Do you know that almost all the professional football stars we know today passed through Football Academies where they received training from knowledgeable football coaches to help them develop their skills before they became professional players.
>> Do you know that nearly all the Football Academies around the world charge high fees from those interested in enrolling with them.
>> Also, football kits (jerseys, boots, shin guards, balls, pumps etc) and access to football facilities (pitches, training props etc) can cost quite a lot of money.
>> Most of the kids from poor backgrounds who have the talent to become future football stars cannot just afford any of these; and the vast majority of them end up with unfulfilled dreams.
We at Power In Foot Foundation think this is just NOT fair; and we are doing something about it !
